It’s that time of year again - fall, the beginning of the both the academic year and the Tri Delta Alumnae Chapter’s year. Our alumnae chapter welcomes Tri Deltas from everywhere, from all collegiate chapters all over the US and Canada too, new alums, new-to-the-area alums, long-time alums, women of every age to join our group. Details are below.
This year, as last, we will celebrate Founders’ Day in November with Iota Chapter at the University of Michigan. In April, we will introduce the graduating seniors to alumnae membership at Circle Degree. Details for these have not yet been finalized. Sometime over the winter, we will also be making gifts of pin cushions for the graduates so they will always have a place to keep their Tri Delta pins safe.
Members of our chapter serve as alumna advisors to Iota Chapter and on the House Corporation Board. For more information, or to volunteer, contact Lori Cippicchio, the alumnae advisor at lcipicchio@yahoo.com or Tracey Pierce, HC President, at Traceykpierce@gmail.com.
Alumnae chapter officers this year are Mary Alice Treadway, President and Cathy Strachan, Treasurer. We are in need of a volunteer to be Vice-President to complete the executive team. Contact Mary Alice at Matread@umich.edu for more information.
An on-going project of the Alumnae Chapter is supporting the Delta Delta Delta Community Service Fund. The fund was established in honor of Iota’s centennial and provides assistance to students with preference given to Greek applicants. It is a permanent part of the University’s resources and is managed by the Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning. In last spring’s Winter ‘24 Student Grant Showcase celebration at the Michigan Union, our group was recognized (surprisingly) in the brochure: “Additional funds were provided by the Delta Delta Delta Community Service Fund, with our thanks to the Delta Delta Delta Ann Arbor Area Alumnae Chapter, and Mary Alice Treadway, President.”
This Fund was begun mainly through the efforts of Barbara Cope for Iota’s centennial as a permanent gift to the University from Iota. It is with great sadness that we learned that Barbara passed away this March in Ann Arbor. She was a life-loyal Tri Delta in many ways. She was initiated in 1956. After graduation, she held university administrative positions at the University of Colorado, Manhattanville College, and Princeton University before returning work at the University of Michigan, her first love, the maize and blue. When back in Ann Arbor, she became very active in the Alumnae Chapter, revitalizing it and serving as president for many years. Her devotion to Tri Delta (and the University, including Michigan sports and theater) was significant.
For those who knew her well over the years, it would be a fitting tribute to her memory to make a contribution to:

Also, keeping our local Alumnae Chapter operating takes time, commitment and some money. For 2024-25, local dues remain at $15. At last summer’s DDD Convention, members voted to increase national dues to $33, for a total of $48. (LifeLoyal members pay only local dues.) Dues are payable to:
